Our child has always been a slacker.
We have had to yell at him repeatedly just to get him to do his chores, such as changing the air filter for the Heating and Air Conditioning system. I thought chores like changing the air filter were fair, especially since that kind of job is so self-explanatory. I mean, I addressed the more critical issues, such as cleaning the outdoor air conditioner condenser unit, and our youngster has always been a genuine talent. He picks things up as though they are nothing. He had no trouble understanding how he learned to play the piano. He also learned how to play the guitar. He always enjoyed listening to music while the air conditioner was turned up! I was proud of him when she moved out on her own and went to a prestigious university. I advised him to take excellent care of his heating and air conditioning, but he disregarded my advice. He stated that if his heating and air conditioning system failed, he would simply install a new heating and air conditioning system. I told him that to do something like that, he needed to be a professional, and he laughed and claimed it was nonsense. He said that anybody could do any job as long as they learned how to do it. I still insisted he was wrong but he chose to prove me wrong. He ordered a new ductless mini-split and he installed the thing after it arrived. He even made an upgraded video that he posted online and he sent me a link so I could watch it. While he was kind of rubbing it all in my face, I was still proud of him for being able to do such fantastic work.
