We have always had to yell at our son numerous times just to get him to do chores like replacing the air filter for our heating and air-conditioning system.
I thought chores like that were fair, especially since it’s such an easy job.
It was more pressing to inspect and clean the condenser unit of the outdoor air conditioner. So, I took care of that. Of course, our son has always been really talented, he picks up things like nobody’s business. The piano became easy for him after he learned to play it. The guitar also came easy to him. Music was always one of his great pleasures in his home, with the air conditioner running. I was happy that he was attending a wonderful university when he moved out on his own. He neglected his Heating and A/C despite my warnings. He said that after the Heating and A/C plan failed, he would just install a new Heating and A/C system. He laughed when I told him he had to be a professional to do something about that, and he said that was absurd. According to him, anyone could do any job with training. He still chose to prove me wrong despite my insistence that he was wrong. In the end, he purchased a new ductless mini split and installed it. I was able to watch an upgrade video that he posted online and he sent me a message so I could see it. Despite the way he was rubbing it in our faces, I was still proud of him for being able to do such a great job.
