Growing up, our son has always been pretty lazy! Both of us regularly had to yell at him multiple times just to get him to do his common chores like changing the air filter in the Heating and A/C system.
I thought chores like changing the air filter were fair, especially since it is a simple job.
I worked on the more crucial things, such as cleaning the outdoor condenser unit of the air conditioner; Our son, however, is equally excellent, but he picks up things so easily. It was easy for him to learn how to play the piano. He also picked up playing the guitar quickly. He played his music regularly with the air conditioner running, and when he moved out on his own, I was proud that he was attending a great school. I warned him to take wonderful care of his Heating and A/C but he neglected it. When the heating and air conditioning proposal failed, he stated that he would just install an existing heating and air conditioning system. I told him that if he wanted to do something like that, he needed to be a professional, but he laughed and claimed it was nonsense. He claimed that anyone could accomplish any job if they learned how to do it first. I still believe that he is incorrect, but he has chosen to prove me wrong. He placed an order for a new ductless mini split and installed it once it arrived. He even produced an installation video that he uploaded on YouTube and emailed me and others a link to watch it. Even though he was shoving it in my face, I was pleased with him for being able to accomplish such amazing work.
