A Story about Keeping Cool in another Country

I decided I didn’t want to live in the states anymore, it was too expensive and traffic was too stressful for me.

I wanted a simpler life that didn’t involve me having to work so much to just live a normal life. It doesn’t seem like we should have to work 40 hour a week just to exist on a planet we were born on and I felt like there was more to life than just getting by. I wanted to go chase my dream around the world, but living in America didn’t give me the freedom in my schedule to do that. So I packed my bags and hopped in a nice air conditioned jet and flew overseas. The climate in the town where I moved to was much warmer than home and I noticed I was going to have a problem cooling down my flat since there was no heating or cooling in the places. I guess people slept fine without cold air in their places, which for me was tough because I ran my air conditioning all the time. In the winter they use space heaters in most flats for heating in the winter, but it’s very expensive to run them. My bedroom would be comfortable, but the rest of the house would be very cold. None of the places had furnaces either, like we had back at home. My friend said that I could have a unit installed by an HVAC technician for a few thousand euros but that was way too much money for me. I’ll just wear more clothes in the winter to keep warm.
