Back when I was taking classes at an HVAC trade school, I also was working part time at a hardware store.
It was actually very exciting when we had a bunch of heaters for sale. These heaters were energy efficient and were a trusted brand as well. Those heaters honestly were selling so fast that it was hard to keep them up on display. I kept having to go back to the warehouse where fortunately, we had a mountain of these heaters. I guess the boss was banking that they would all sell since they were on sale for such a good price. I also learned all about the heaters and was telling numerous customers about the pros of these heating systems. I promoted the safety features such as the automatic shut off when tipped feature. I also spoke about how energy efficient these portable heaters were. But I had to stress to people never to leave these heaters running unattended because that could put the household at risk for starting a fire. While portable heaters are truly convenient, you have to know how to use them safely. These portable heating systems actually account for a large portion of house fires in the winter season, so it’s something for people to think about. Still, I highly recommend supplementing your central heating system with quality portable heating systems with good safety features. Even to this day working at the HVAC company I work at, I still recommend such heating systems. But I also recommend people take good care of their HVAC systems without ever skipping out on essential maintenance.
