There are a few leaks in the air duct, which is conveniently located in our attic of 120F, so it is going to be a fun morning of wriggling and crawling around up there with all of the insulation as well as lord knows what kind of rodents. I am sure I sealed off our attic pretty well from any rats getting into it however they always seem to get in. I had to tape a bunch of seams in the ductwork but that tape is coming off in several parts of it. I was going to hire an Heating as well as Air Conditioning company to handle it but I called more than fiveof them as well as they are all so backed up with work that they told me they couldn’t come out to do it for another week. I’ve done it before while I was working for our dad’s Heating as well as Air Conditioning company so it isn’t an immense deal, however with the temperature in the attic as warm as it is, the task is not going to be fun. I think I can have all of the ducts taped up in a couple of hours max as well as I will wait till morning to do it so the attic isn’t so hot. I never measured the temperature in the attic in the early morning but I bet it will be 30 degrees cooler than in the morning. Maybe with so much air leaking from the ducts the a/c will cool down the attic some with the air that leaks from the looser areas. At least the rats will have been comfortable up there!
