My bathroom lacks an air conditioner vent and it's annoying

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you take something for granted until you no longer have access to it any longer.

  • I lost my electricity recently from a bad tropical storm and I couldn’t take a warm shower for over a week.

Aside from the lack of light at night, I also hated not having the ability to cook myself a hot meal either. I should have been grateful there was no flooding at my home like what happened to my friends’ houses south of here when the river flooded unexpectedly. The tropical storm dumped so much rainwater that the larger rivers that cut through the southern portion of the counties overflowed past the levees and that’s how so many neighborhoods were inundated with flood waters. I used to say how jealous I was that my friends south of here had better ventilation systems with air vents in the bathrooms. I have just one single bathroom in my home and it doesn’t have a vent connected to the ductwork. There is an air exhaust vent with a fan that can be activated by a switch, but there is no intake for the air conditioning or heating system. If I want heat or air conditioning in the bathroom, I have to leave the bathroom door open. When I first moved to this residence, I was used to bathrooms where I could safely shut the door and not have to worry about moisture and heat ventilation. The a/c could run and I could leave the ceiling vent on as well for steam exhaust. But with my current setup, I am almost forced to at least leave the bathroom door cracked if not wide open whenever I take a shower.
