Insulating the tiny house I bought

I recently bought a tiny house and noticed that the air conditioning was running constantly.

  • I really wanted to add insulation, but when was I going to find the time? Not to mention that would include ripping down the drywall and creating a huge mess.

The house was also a rental property, so thankfully there was rent coming in to help me pay those high energy bills. Unfortunately, the house flooded during the rainy season and the flooding ruined the drywall. I was very upset for a few weeks, but after that I got to work on installing a french drain to prevent future flooding. Once I had taken the steps to prevent future flooding, it was time to start removing that old moldy drywall. Once the drywall was removed, my suspicion was confirmed and I verified that there was no insulation in the walls. Adding insulation became a top priority of mine because I had been paying high energy bills. I knew that tenants would be happier with the added insulation as well, because they would notice their living space had more indoor comfort and the temperature stayed more consistent. I installed the insulation myself because I like a good challenge. However, I would recommend the average homeowner reach out to a professional company that installs insulation. This will ensure the job is done right and you have nothing to worry about. Before you hire a company to install your insulation, make sure you do research. The research will prevent you from over paying for your insulation project.
