Back when I moved into my very first apartment I was so excited that I could hardly sleep at night.
- I was young and naive at the time, and because of this I failed to do some very important things prior to signing the lease.
One of the most important things that I didn’t consider was that the apartment came with no air conditioning unit installed. I honestly didn’t think that this would even be possible but sure enough, here I was just a few weeks before the summer season was in full effect without any air conditioning unit of any sort. Most people in my position would have been freaking out, but I was able to stay calm and think of a plan. Later on, it hit me that my best friend lives neary my town and has a father who the owner of a well known HVAC company. With his connections he was able to get me a deal on a perfectly adequate air conditioning unit for a very reasonable price. Only a few days after I had it installed in my new place a massive heat wave rolled into my town, causing the temperature to linger around 100 degrees for nearly two weeks straight. The next time that I pack up and move somewhere I am going to double check to make sure it has everything I need, but in this instance I sure was lucky to have a friend that was able to save me from being stuck without AC at the worst possible time. It’s never a bad thing to have HVAC connections!
