After an ordeal that I went through last year during the summer where I was stuck in a home without any air conditioning for a week, I have done some things to make sure that never happens again. There is no code or rulebook you are given when it comes to how to maintain your relationship with your HVAC repairman. Due to my extremely short temper, when my AC unit broke down on me last summer I didn’t know how to handle it, so I ended up taking it out partially on my HVAC repairman. This ended up not going over very well. In fact it ended up going so bad that he ended up packing up and leaving my house without getting the unit up and running. I can’t really blame him if I am being honest with you, if I was in his shoes I would have left while also saying a few choice words that certainly wouldn’t be appropriate for work. Unfortunately for me in my small town there weren’t any other HVAC companies to reach out to, so since that confrontation occurred I have been trying to win back the favor of this company. It seems like a formal apology letter did the trick, as I have finally gotten an agreement with them to send out another HVAC repair tech to help me out. I am already planning on making some cookies and having a fresh drink ready for this person while they are working on the unit, whatever it takes for them to get my damn AC unit up and running.
