Saving up enough to quit the HVAC business

Last week I had to work six days in a row, 12 hour shifts every day except wednesday, when it was a 16 hour endurance challenge. I can’t complain, I guess, because the overtime money is freaking sweet once it hits the bank account. But at the same time, it kills me because every hour I spend at work is one hour I don’t get to focus on my music. Music is my life, and one day I hope that it will also be my livelihood, but that day has not come yet. For now I remain a hard working HVAC tech, but I hope these days are drawing to a close. Actually, I am trying to turn the negative into a positive ,and save up as much as I can of these overtime checks from the HVAC contractor. I get paid time and a half for OT, with a shift differential on graveyard for emergency HVAC repair jobs that come in overnight. I am always so tired I never have a chance to go spend this money, so I can save it all up and one day have a nest egg when I get the HVAC game for the music business. I should be able to save enough for a new mic, and enough to convert my upstairs bedroom into a studio, and take an entire month off from HVAC work. After that I can decide to go back and work to earn more with the A/C job, or continue on with my music until the money runs out.
