When I graduated private school I married my wifey & she joined the service! Since then the 2 of us have been all over the world! It seems adore my hubby is regularly getting shipped to a modern location, due to this, there is no reason for us to own a house, and at this point, I don’t even want 1, and with a house I would be paying for repairs, upkeep & a mortgage.
With my hubby gone all the time, the plumbing, electrical & Heating, Ventilation, & A/C concerns would be up to me.
Since I don’t have any youngsters, it was a smart transfer to stick with rentals; Most rentals push to have a year long lease. Thankfully my hubby & I always find bi-weekly leasing options. With the army they hook us up with fully furnished apartments for the duration of her deployment. I adore that I don’t need to own a couch, bed, cable or dresser. It makes traveling so much easier. My hubby & I have been to quite a few different countries & I only bring a single suitcase with me. I get to stay in the best location with everything at my fingertips. I always have a kitchen with fairly modern appliances & a powder room with all clean fixtures. If anything goes wrong, I am not the 1 paying for or making the repairs. A fully furnished apartment is absolutely the way to go if you are a modern couple in the military. Someday my hubby will get in an section & stay there for more than a year. When all of us decide to have youngsters, buying a house will be next.
