I was watching the news on Tuesday and I found out that a local plumbing company was going out of business.
The plumbing company has been around for the past 50 years. I was surprised to see the place closing their doors after being open for so many decades. The plumbing company was a huge sponsor in the community for many different events and sports teams. The company was particularly the sponsor for my son’s baseball team. As soon as the plumbing company made the announcement, the baseball team started looking for a new sponsor. I knew this was my opportunity and I contacted the person in charge of the process. I told the lady that my son played ball for one of the clubs and I offered my HVAC repair company as the next sponsor for the team. The woman was elated that I offered the HVAC repair company to be the next sponsor. She thought it was going to take months to find someone. I was excited about all of the free advertising until I found out how much it actually costs to sponsor the baseball team. I could have posted several advertisements in different magazines for the same price that I paid to sponsor the baseball team. I sure hope they make the playoffs this year, because that would be a huge boost for sales. They were close last year and they had a winning record. So far, they are 14-4 for the season and that’s a pretty good start. With half the season already down, the playoffs are looking really good.
