And with the size of our house and the rising costs of heating and cooling utilities, that’s not all that easy. So, I learned how to program the digital thermostat and then really kept a hawk eye on it at all times. The results were good when it came to saving on HVAC costs. The heating costs in the winter have always been the biggest concern. Our winter is cold. He’s also the sort of guy that raves about anything and everything he owns so, I had to take it with a grain of salt. But the very first month the smart thermostat was on the job in my house, I saw just what my buddy was so thrilled about. I was stunned to see that the first month of heating the house, the smart thermostat beat my record savings by 15 percent. No doubt who is the new heating and cooling czar in this house now.
