My first job in an office wasn’t so great

I couldn’t believe how things started out when I first started working in an office. I started as a temp, so I realized that my position wasn’t so greatly valued. Still, I did important work for the company from the very start. Without me entering important information into the system, certain orders couldn’t be processed and other things of that nature. Well, when I started I was upset about a few things. First of all, the air quality wasn’t very good. There was dust floating around and all the services didn’t appear to be clean. I didn’t know how anybody could work in these conditions, but I needed this job. I tried to convince the boss that the temperature control settings should be adjusted for greater comfort, but he refused. He said that 76 degrees on the thermostat was fine, even though I thought it was miserable. He said we could use fans at our workstations, so I did that. Later on, I asked if they could possibly have the ductwork cleaned for the HVAC system or possibly invest in an air purification system. The boss thought I was joking, but I was serious. He said there was no way they could do anything like that, but I could use a portable air purifier if that made me feel better. I ended up getting a UV air purifier that doubled as a fan, so I could have purified air blowing at me when I was feeling overheated. It was certainly better than nothing, but still, I ended up moving on to a better career when I could no longer deal with working at that place.
