How to get the Heating and A/C System Ready for the Wintertime

Now that fall is almost over, it’s time to start thinking about getting ready for the colder weeks.

Of course, we consistently stock our closets with warmer clothes.

But, during this time it’s a fantastic plan to also get your heating and air conditioning ready to deal with the brutal colder weeks. It is best to get your heating and air conditioning maintained during the fall, but if for some reason you haven’t, consistently make sure that you perform some maintenance to make sure that the heating and air conditioning unit doesn’t break down in the wintertime. One of the best things that you can do for your heating and air conditioning is to change the air filter. Replacing the air filter every 75 to 90 days, depending on use, will make your unit perform more efficiently. Another thing you can do is to perform a test run on your temperature control to make sure that the heating and air conditioning unit is heating the home in a timely manner. Set the temperature control to a desired temperature and if it takes too long for your home to get to that temperature, chances are there might be an issue with your unit. It is also substantial to take the debris away from the outdoor condenser. During the summer and fall seasons, leaves and debris will build up around the unit. In addition to the outdoor condenser, it is a fantastic idea to also clean away any dust or debris around the indoor air vents. These things will help your heating and air conditioning function respectfully during the wintertime weeks. But remember, the best way to prevent troubles with your unit is to consistently schedule official maintenance with a licensed heating and air conditioning serviceman.
