I never realized how loud our Heating & A/C condenser was until I bought a new system

When you live in a concrete block house, you tend to take for granted how much sound is dampened by the walls.

Police sirens & automobile horns get softened out to some extent, whereas our old wood plank home would absorb the soundwaves as the vehicles passed by. I have neighbors who essentially live out on their back porch, but thankfully I rarely hear them unless I’m resting outside in our backyard. The same goes for turf mowers, weed whackers, & the pool’s water filtration pump. Since the walls are so thick & strong, it’s strenuous for sound waves to pass through unless the noise is extremely loud. I used to guess that our cooling system condenser was normal. It is outside our entryway window, & I correctly always heard the noise from its fan bleeding in from outside. This all changed Last yearwhen I got a new installed. Along with the new air handler came a new condenser. It is so quiet while it runs that I rarely ever hear it if I’m inside our own house. For the first week, I found myself walking outside our back door to ensure it was still running on more possibilities than I would like to admit. I could not imagine how quiet a condenser can be after getting rid of our old a single that made so much noise. It’s amazing how far the heating & cooling industry has come with technology in the past numerous decades. It never ceases to amaze myself and others when I see all of the numerous possibilities available for cooling systems, furnaces, air purification systems, & humidifiers at locales as standard as giant chain department stores.
