I was so much more productive before I ever decided to purchase an air conditioner for my home. I never owned an air conditioner before, and that is because my mom warned me that I would be less productive if I decided to purchase an air conditioner. I grew up playing outside and working on the farm, and I had a stronger will and work ethic than many of the kids in my school. My mom told me that it was because we didn’t have the air conditioner in our home. Our house wasn’t meant to be used all day by people who are supposed to be working hard outside. She said that if we decided to purchase an air conditioner, then all that we would want to do is stay inside with the air conditioner instead of working. I didn’t mention the air conditioner again, but when I became an adult and started my own farm, I purchased the air conditioner that I had always wanted. Immediately, I decided that I wouldn’t let this air conditioner make me less productive, but that turned out to be a lot more difficult than I thought that it would be. As soon as I began using the air conditioner, I learned that it wasn’t as easy to go outside in the heat. It wasn’t that the air conditioner was making me lazy. The air conditioner was causing me to physically not be able to handle the heat. I started falling behind in my work, which was why I decided to get rid of the air conditioner. My mom was right.
