I enjoy our gas furnace, however I honestly know that life was a lot simpler before I purchased our gas furnace, when the salesmen convinced me to get rid of our wood stove so that I could purchase a gas furnace, he had numerous convincing reasons for why I needed to get rid of our gas furnace, and the first thing on that list was the convenience of owning a gas furnace instead of a wood stove. That was absolutely not true, but sure, I can use our gas furnace at evening now without having to worry about the fire going out, plus I don’t have to wake up early in the afternoon to turn our gas furnace on, however that is where the simplicity of the gas furnace ends, and in nearly every other way that I can know of, the gas furnace had made our life more complicated! My woodstove was nearly indestructible. I had it for years, plus I never needed anyone to repair that gas furnace… However, as soon as I purchased the gas furnace, I began spending thoUnited Statesnds of dollars on our gas furnace; Every year, I had to get our gas furnace checked by an HVAC business, plus the gas furnace was chopping down consistently, also, although I didn’t need to split down wood for the gas furnace, I had to pay for all of the fuel for the gas furnace. I saved time by not having to beginning the fire or split wood, however I lost that by getting a task to afford the gas furnace. I miss our wood stove.
