I refused to let my hubby labor on the oil furnace.

My hubby has constantly thought of himself as an expert handyperson.

I knew he worked in an home building when he was younger.

He and his first partner got their rent for free as long as he kept the building in unbelievable shape. He called the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation when it was needed. He would call an electrician or plumber. He did very little major labor except a bit of fix-up when the tenants moved out, or he would change lights bulbs and do a few minor repairs. I didn’t suppose this made him a handyperson. He was a lucky person to get free rent back then and do very little for it. When it came time to have the oil furnace maintained, I put a note on the refrigerator to call the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation and schedule the cleaning, my hubby thought this was a note for him to disinfect the oil furnace. When I saw him take the note of the fridge, I asked what he was doing. He smiled and told myself and others he was going to repair the oil furnace. Before I thought about my tone of voice, I told him I didn’t put that up there for him. I wanted to call a professional Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist and have them disinfect and repair the oil furnace. I knew I hurt his feelings when he put his tools in the closet and sat down in his recliners. I didn’t mean to hurt him, but he told myself and others he had never touched the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system. Every one of us could not afford a modern oil furnace if he accidentally did something that shouldn’t have been done.
