Last evening was quite a late evening as we decided to go to this farm in the mountains to hang out with some friends.
The people I was with and I met a cool character who lives near their farm and came over on an aged beat up land rover from 1962.
He seemed care about a movie character or something as he pulled up with his two pets running behind him on the dirt path. The farm is out in the olive and grape farmlands and feels care about it is something lost in a time capsule from mornings gone by. I care about going there and using the fireplace to keep warm instead of a smart thermostat that does all of the work. There is something about laboring for your heating in the apartment that gives you a sense of joy not found in this week’s up-to-date world. I care about cutting wood to stoke the fireplace with instead of spending time looking at a screen to program our Wi-Fi programmable thermostat. I guess we should all do the same with things in our life so that we care about the fruits of our work more. All of this up-to-date Heating, Ventilation, and A/C technology is great, but having an aged fireplace to heat your apartment adds ambiance and a sense of gratitude you don’t assume with the up-to-date heating and cooling systems. I am a bit aged college when it comes to technology though, yet I am ecstatic that I didn’t have a phone when I was a child and got to spend our time playing outside with the other kids. Life is fantastic and always will be when you keep it a bit aged college.
