I can’t hardly feel that my fantastic friend and I are once again looking right down the barrel of Summer.
But it’s late March again and that means it won’t be long before I’m sealing up the house and leaving the air conditioning on, but right now, we’re still only spot cooling the house and the temperature control hasn’t been flipped to cooling and left there.
But that’s coming for sure, but and with that comes all sorts of measures aimed at holding down the costs of air conditioning… Left unchecked, you can easily scrub out a checking account with cooling costs during one of our Summers. I learned this the hard way when I first moved down here a decade ago, but since then, I’ve been careful to stay on top of the temperature control setting even going so far as to learn how to program the digital temperature control, and well not this year. This Summer, I’m turning all of that over to the latest bit of Heating and A/C technology that I’ve had the Heating and A/C professionals install. This Summer, I’ll be leaning on the smart temperature control to supply even more air conditioning savings than I’ve ever been able to produce. The Heating and A/C serviceman set some basic parameters for the smart temperature control and then told me to just let it be. I’m still wondering just how it can learn our patterns and behavior. That’s what it does. It learns how my fantastic friend and I come and go and then adjusts the air conditioning so it’s not over cooling an empty house. I mean that’s oversimplifying it as there are plenty of other things it’s able to do to save on cooling costs. But I’ll be honestly interested to see just what this new Heating and A/C technology can honestly do once the heat gets here.
