Working out and making it easy on myself

My history with health and fitness is one full of all kinds of inconsistency.

That is a nice way of saying it.

I have joined so many gyms and then let so many gym memberships lapse as well. When I first stared out, it felt like such a great thing to be doing. It’s just that I could not really keep that motivation flowing. I would show up at the gym and try to something like weight lifting or maybe get some cardio in. However, I really didn’t have a clue as to what I was really doing. For me, all I did was try to copy other people who were actually engaged in formal workout programs. This got me nowhere and fast. I ultimately simply gave up and let the gym memberships wither and expire. That was until my wife started going to the health and fitness center. I think this changed my perspective because I could literally see the result in front of my eyes. She was also getting so much from the group fitness training classes. It was a workout program that she felt motivated her to push past her limits because she wasn’t doing alone. Then, there were all the friendships that she developed. It was all very inspiring. So, I asked her if I could join her one evening. After she picked her jaw up off the floor, she was so excited to have me go along. I’m sure glad I did. Not only do I get to share our health and fitness journeys together but I am have found stuff that I like to do as well.
