As a teacher, my classroom is full of all kinds of germs, especially during cold and flu season. It seems like all my students get sick at the same time, and sometimes I get sick too. After a few years of the same pattern, I decided that I wanted to do more than clean desks at the end of the day. I decided to invest in an air purifier. Air purifiers sanitize the air and eliminate pollutants, allergens, and toxins. While the air purifier cannot get rid of every germ and contaminant, they are effective in eliminating or neutralizing many of these particles. The air purifier is also very helpful during allergy season. I have a lot of students who deal with seasonal allergies, and the air purifier reduces pollen levels in the classroom. However, it is important to still be mindful that there may still be contaminants on tough surfaces, like carpets. I make sure that I spray disinfectant on those surfaces. Overall, I am very happy with my air purifier and I think it is making a big difference in the air quality in my classroom. A few of the teachers in my school have followed in my footsteps and got air purifiers for their classroom. It would be really amazing if the school would see our initiative and consider the installation of a whole building air purification system.
