Hired the wrong guys first

As you would expect, when the HVAC guy arrived at the home, he had no idea how to maintain the device for us.

I think that I had a major perspective shift in life when I stopped guilt-tripping myself for making mistakes. I have always been an over the top perfectionist in my life, and it has caused me a lot of additional stress and worries. My obsession with perfection pervades every issue and decision that I make in my life. For example, a few weeks ago I made an awful mistake when I hired the first heating and air company that emerged from a Google search after our furnace broke down. One morning, I got up and it was very cold. I could not change the thermostat to my desired indoor air temperature. I utterly panicked. I inadvertently called the worst heating, cooling, and ventilation place in the city. As soon as the company answered my call, it was apparent that these HVAC people were not what I needed. They did not sound knowledgeable about a basic gas furnace problem, and constantly referred to the system as a boiler. As you would expect, when the HVAC guy arrived at the home, he had no idea how to maintain the device for us. He seemed surprised to find out it was a forced air gas furnace. This HVAC technician did not seem to understand much about the work that we were asking for! The technician charged us $200, but our gas furnace was down again a week later. After that, I did more research into heating and cooling maintenance shops and found a much better company. Now, I just need to forgive myself for calling the first guys on a whim.
