I dislike kerosene gas furnaces. In our informed opinion, kerosene heating systems are too dangerous to be used as a heating system that you can put inside your house. I only think how scary these heating systems are because our parents had numerous of these heating systems in our place when I was growing up. The people I was with and I had a single of the kerosene heaters in the den and kitchen, and both of us had a single in each of the family rooms. I am not positive how our parents thought that having a kerosene heating program in our family room was okay, however it definitely wasn’t. More than any other gas furnace, you have to be absolutely careful that your heating program doesn’t cause a fire. I can’t tell you how many times I accidentally put an item near the heating program only to find our stuff melted. If you are going to use gas furnaces, there are a few things that you can do to make them safer. First of all, keep these heating systems away from the draperies. If a spark were to fly out of the gas furnace, they could catch on fire. Actually, you should keep anything flammable at least 10 feet away from the gas furnace. Also, fires are not the only thing that could cause a complication with regard to kerosene heaters, and you also have to make sure that you keep enough fuel in the heating program and that your wick on the heating program is like it should be. Otherwise, it isn’t flames from the heating program that you have to be concerned about. You could die from the smoke and fumes long before there is a fire.
