I am dealing with my hour Winter in the northern reaches of our country.
The first one was so stunning and disappointing that I think I have wiped it from my memory.
The only thing I was capable of was to keep moving the Heating as well as A/C setting to find any measure of real cozy warmth. This is a level of frosty that I would never have imagined was even possible. But here I am. Growing up in a southern state, there just wasn’t much frosty while I was in the winter. Sure every one of us had some frosty snaps here and there. The Heating as well as A/C heat pump would come on occasionally just to knock the frosty out briefly. So, I was completely unprepared for what last Winter brought. I literally didn’t want to leave the house it was that frosty to me. This year, I am getting a bit more proactive in an attempt to deal with the frosty a bit better. One reason I was so frosty is that my house was allowing a whole lot of frosty air in and that much Heating as well as A/C treated air out. I took a few weekend and went about making sure the house was sealed up undoubtedly tight. From the roof, to the attic, to the exterior of the house, I caulked any spot that looked suspicious. I also added so insulation to a couple of windows along with hanging so modern storm doors. Hopefully this year, I will feel a bit more comfortable in my home. And just maybe I’ll be able to go outside and play in the snow a few times. But, I’m not holding my breath on that.
