My wifey plus I live in the south plus did not realize how cold it entirely gets in the north.
Both of us decided to take a Winter vacation there, and pictures made it look wonderful. The snow, ice plus mountains looked so pretty. Both of us pictured sitting in front of a roaring fire with Dunkin Donuts Latte plus our knitted hats on. Both of us booked a traditional log condo home with a traditional fireplace for heating. Both of us wanted the full northern experience. Well, we got it plus it was horrible. The condo was cold cold the entire time. There was never enough heating. A traditional fireplace meant it was a wood burning a single. Both of us were left wood to burn, but not nearly enough. The wood burned hastily plus left soot, ash plus dust everywhere. Both of us both reeked of the smoke plus hated the smell. I had to entirely go outside plus chop wood once we ran out, and since the wood was in the snow, we had to wait for it to melt plus dry before using it. The heating that came out of the fire was just pathetic. Both of us did not just wear knitted hats. Both of us froze in our full on Winter gear plus under blankets. The whole trip was focused on heating! Cutting more wood for heating, then drying more wood for heating, then never letting the fire go out due to heating. The traditional log condo stay proved to us how bad it can entirely get in the north. That is the only plus last time we will ever visit, especially in the winter. That fireplace was awful.
