I was on my way to visit my daughter and I was looking at an 1100 mile ride.
My husband had gone over the car before he allowed me to take it.
I had new brakes, an oil change, new windshield wipers and tires. I also had a full reservoir for the windshield wiper fluid. I was about 400 miles into my trip when the weather began to be warm and humid. I reached over and turned on the air conditioning, hoping to rid the car of the humidity. I only had the temperature at seventy, so I didn’t expect it to be cold in the car, but I did hope to be comfortable. The first half hour, it was really nice, but the further south I went, the worse the heat and humidity got. My air conditioning couldn’t keep up with the change in temperature. I pulled over at a rest stop and I called my husband. I told him I was going to find a hotel and stop for the night. When he asked about the car, I asked him if he had thought to look at the HVAC system. He said no and wanted to know if I was having problems. I laughed and told him that I will when it gets a bit warmer. I told him how the air conditioner wasn’t working very well. He said that I should pull over at the next service station. He wanted me to have them fill the air conditioner with coolant. He had bought the coolant and forgot to put it in the car.
