The guy stole my computer and all of my files

Somebody broke into my office last night and they stole my computer.

I own a heating and air conditioning repair business.

My workshop and office are located downtown in the business district. The office is about 25 minutes away from my home. I have an alarm on the door as well as a video camera that records 24 hours a day in the parking lot. When the alarm company called, I was anxious and nervous. I immediately drove to the business office when I found out about the alarm. The alarm was still ringing when I showed up. The police arrived about 15 minutes later. I had plenty of time to search around inside while I waited for the police. I didn’t find a large mess, which made me happy. I was worried that the vandals would destroy my office. Instead, they stole my computer and all of my files. There was an iPod on the desk, but they left it sitting there. The guy only wanted the computer. It seems like a strange and random crime at first, and then I found a business card outside in the parking lot. It was a business card from one of my competitors. I suddenly began to worry that the alarm and robbery were not random. What if one of my competitors decided to steal my files so they could contact all of my customers and put me out of business. I called the police and told them about the business card, but they didn’t seem interested in following that particular lead.
