A friend had offered a hall in a hotel for an event

My friends and I were arranging a surprise baby shower for our other friend and one of them had provided a hall in their hotel for it.

On the eve of the baby shower, I went to inspect the hall and it was chilly inside.

I called the lady who was in charge of the maintenance of the hotel and asked her to check what was wrong with the central heater. She could not give me a clear answer so I asked her when was the last time they had a heating supplier do a tune-up on the furnace. When she went through her paperwork from the whole-hotel heating corporation, she noted that it was over 2 years ago when the previous manager was in office. Frankly, this did not rest well with me so I asked her to call the local repair provider, but just before noon a heating supplier arrived and set to work. After evaluating the electric heat pump she informed us that furnace repair would be the best step to take. When she was done she gave the maintenance woman some useful energy-saving tips. She also advised the hotel manager to explore zone control systems that would optimize and save energy. For example, when no one was using the hall it would be possible to turn off the radiant floor heating through a digital temperature control. I was so happy with her professionalism and willingness to assist us to avoid such troubles in the future that I asked her for her business card so that I could contact her to check out our temperature control idea which had started to supply me with the wrong readings.
