My husband and I have decided that we are going to look for a new place that is much more energy efficient than the place that we are living in now.
We have been renting here for a couple of years and neither one of us likes it.
When we moved in, it was close to my husband’s work and that was really the only good thing about it. The place does not have central air conditioning and so we are always turning the window unit air conditioning systems off and on all the time and those things use up a lot of energy in the summer. I don’t think that this place has very good insulation in it, either, because neither the heating nor the cooling seems to stay in the house for very long! During the winter, the baseboard heating is the absolute worst. I hate it and I am constantly worried about a curtain or a piece of furniture catching on fire because of it. Not to mention the fact that baseboard heating is not energy efficient at all! You would not believe how much it costs to pay for the heating and cooling in this house, and it’s not even good! The indoor air quality in our house now really leaves a lot to be desired and I can’t wait to move out of here. We have enough money saved up now that we can actually put a downpayment on a house of our own. We are looking for a place that is going to be energy efficient and I’m hoping that we can find one with both central air conditioning and radiant heated flooring!
