My husband and I have decided that we are going to look for a new place that is much more energy efficient than the place that we are living in now.
- We have been renting here for a couple of years and neither one of us enjoys it.
When we moved in, it was close to my hubby’s work and that was genuinely the only fantastic thing about it, but the place does not have central a/c and so we are always turning the window unit a/cs off and on all the time and those things use up a lot of energy in the summer. I don’t know that this place has genuinely fantastic insulation in it, either, because neither the heating nor the cooling seems to stay in the house for genuinely long! During the winter, the baseboard heating is the absolute worst. I hate it and I am constantly worried about a curtain or a piece of furniture catching on fire because of it, not to mention the fact that baseboard heating is not energy efficient at all! You would not believe how much it costs to pay for the heating and cooling in this house, and it’s not even good! The indoor air quality in our house now genuinely leaves a lot to be desired and I can’t wait to transfer out of here. We have enough money saved up now that we can entirely put a downpayment on a house of our own. We are looking for a place that is going to be energy efficient and I’m hoping that we can find one with both central a/c and radiant heated flooring!
