They see people who use air conditioner as weak, yet they have no complication with indoor heating systems
My Grandparents used to be seriously uptight back in the day. My dad said that he would snack on raw potatoes when there was no other food available as his mother didn’t think in having snacks in the house. They would eat at meal time and that was it. When they watched my sibling and I when the people I was with and I were young, my mother would sneak snack food into my backpack so we’d have something to eat while the people I was with and I were there. It wasn’t just snacks that they were stingy with, they were also entirely selective on what they would feed guests for meals and usually gave out the smallest portion sizes. I couldn’t entirely figure out their modus operandi as a kid, especially when it came to indoor climate control. Despite what one might assume, my Grandparents were not terrible or struggling financially. My Grandpa sold his business at 65 and was sitting on a comfortable nest egg. Regardless of their access to capital, neither would budge on their adamant refUnited Statesl to use air conditioner of any kind. In their minds, even window cooling systems are a sin for self-reliance. They relentlessly held the position that people should live as close as they did back 200 years ago when indoor electricity wasn’t even a far off dream in someone’s mind. Despite the discomfort it brings them, my Grandparents just will not get an cooling system. I could prove to them that they would be much more comfortable, but it still wouldn’t help to change their mindsets grading cooling systems. They see people who use air conditioner as weak, yet they have no complication with indoor heating systems. I’d venture to know they have the opposite feeling about furnaces and heat.
