I’m just so glad that we were able to have space to help out a dear friend.
There are friends and then there are friends you consider family.
For my wife and I, our dear friend Debbie is forever family. And I’m just so very happy that we were able to turn our basement into an apartment thanks to the HVAC professionals and others. We’re by no mean well off. In fact, the last few years have been touch and go financially. Both of us had to take pay cuts in order to work from the central air conditioning of our home. But at least we had jobs. There are so many out there who weren’t near as lucky as we were. Our friend Debbie was one of them. The last few years have been kind of tough financially even now that we’re back inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office. We had the pay cuts to deal with during the pandemic and then once we were back at full pay, here came the inflation. On top of that, our property taxes went up along with utilities and seemingly everything else. But again, we consider ourselves lucky. We also believe in paying good fortune forward. So when we found out that our friend Debbie was actually living out of her car, we did something about it. We have a finished basement that’s never really been properly used. With the addition of a ductless heat pump, some furniture and some expert plumbing help from my brother, we had an apartment. And our dear friend had a place to feel safe and just get back on her feet.
