I’m just so glad that we were able to have space to help out a dear friend, and there are friends and then there are friends you consider family, but for my spouse and I, our dear buddy Debbie is forever family. And I’m just so entirely thrilled that my relaxing friend and I were able to turn our basement into a home thanks to the heating and air conditioning professionals and others. We’re by no means well off, then in fact, the last few years have been tough financially. Both of us had to take pay cuts in order to work from the central a/c of our home. But at least my relaxing friend and I had jobs. There are so many out there who were not near as lucky as my relaxing friend and I were. Our buddy Debbie was one of them. The last few years have been kind of tough financially even now that we’re back inside the zone controlled heating and air conditioning of the office. We had the pay cuts to deal with during the pandemic and then once we were back at full pay, here came the inflation. On top of that, our property taxes went up along with utilities and seemingly everything else. But again, we consider ourselves lucky. We also believe in paying good luck forward, but when we found out that our buddy Debbie was genuinely living out of her car, my relaxing friend and I did something about it. We have a finished basement that has never genuinely been properly used. With the addition of a ductless heat pump, some furniture and some expert plumbing help from my sibling, we had a home. And our dear buddy had a place to feel safe and just get back on her feet.
