I have to confess that getting an instant-read thermal gun was a surprise, and getting it at the office Christmas gathering was even more of a surprise.
It turned out that the entire crew gifted me this plus it took a minute to understand why.
But once I got it plus started grinning, the entire crew fell to pieces, but for sure, I am the temperature control sheriff in the office. And I make no bones about it. It’s not a job responsibility that I asked for or ever wanted but it’s one that fell to me. I had been charged with reducing overhead costs in the office, so of course the temperature control setting was a target, while I’m not a confrontational person, I wasn’t having it with people yanking the temperature control all over. I appealed to them nicely, then I finally just had the HVAC corporation put in a smart temperature control and I was the only one with the manual override code. It was clever and I definitely did find it sort of hilarious. I also found the source of a puzzling draft in our home that has bedeviled me plus made our heating costs soar. The thermal gun allowed me to find the spot where the chilly air was pouring inside. And that was one of the windows that my great friend and I had replaced with double paned windows when my great friend and I moved in. I got the window corporation back out here to respectfully insulate it plus the home is cozier now, then plus, I’ll be saving a bit on the heating costs as well.
